is the barrel marked 223/556 ?
Hi Robert, I just verified this barrel is stamped (CAL. 223 REM / 5.56 NATO).

Not recommended. 5.56 is a higher pressure round. A firearm marked 5.56 can safely fire both 5.56 and 223. A firearm marked 223 only should not. It can fire 5.56 but there would be warranty and safety issues associated with doing this.
Hi James, Century Arms who imports these, ships them with the wooden hand guard. Buds supposedly does not open packages, so it should be present.
