H&R 1871 Defender 38 (Model 25) Complete Specs and Full Gun Specifications
The Defender 38, also known as Model 25, was a break-open double action/ single action revolver made by Harrington & Richardson in Massachusetts, USA from 1943 to 1947. Harrington & Richardson company was founded in 1874 by Gilbert H. Harrington and William A. Richardson. The Defender 38 was made during World War II and had fully adjustable front and rear sights, replaceable firing pin on the nose of the hammer and an auto-ejector. From the Model 25 a manual ejecting Model 925 was later made until 1984. The flat sided barrel bears a passing resemblance to the British Webley revolvers. Less than 15,000 of them were made and some of them were supplied to the U.S. Government
