Husqvarna Gevär M1938 Complete Specs and Full Gun Specifications
The Gevär M1938 was a bolt action rifle from a family of Swedish Mauser rifles. They are an improved Mauser model 1893 with unique design elements requested by Sweden. One of these elements is chambering in 6.5 x 55mm Swedish Mauser caliber. Swedish Mauser rifles were made in Germany by Mauser or in Sweden by Carl Gustafs Stads Gevärsfaktori and Husqvarna. The Gevär M1938 was adopted in 1938 and it was actually a converted Gevär M1896 with barrels cut down by 5.5". At that time it was a trend to shorten long rifles to be longer than cavalry carbine but shorter that standard infantry rifle.
