The autoloading hunting rifle, “Medved-4” model, in 7.62mm caliber is chambered for the .308 Win (7.62x51) hunting cartridge and designed forhunting the medium-sized and big game under various climatic conditions. The hunting rifle is reloaded automatically due to the energy of the powder gases, escaped from the barrel bore to the gas cylinder, and the energy of the return spring. The barrel bore locks when the bolt turns around the axis of the sliding bolt support. The trigger-and-firing mechanism of hammer type provides only single-shot firing, it is found in the detachable trigger housing, thus facilitating cleaning. A safety thumb catch is provided on the receiver right. The barrel bore and cartridge chamber are chrome-lined. The buttstock and fore end are made of walnut.
