The Marlin 336C has a beautiful walnut stock that has a very nice fit to the metal. The action and loading gate needs to be polished. The loading gate has a sharp edge. With a polishing the action is very smooth. Accuracy and performance is excellent

The walnut butt stock does not blend into the receiver very well, at all. There is a definite step down going from wood to steel. Workmanship is poor in this regard. Otherwise, the quality seems to be ok.
