The Kbk wz. 1898 was a Polish bolt-action, bayonet ready carbine based on the German Kar 98a and made by Panstwowa Fabryka Karabinow in Warsaw in 1922. The production of tools and machinery was from a former German factory in Gdansk (Danzig) which was granted to Poland by the Treaty of Versailles. After 22,000 of them were made, production stopped in 1924.
