February 9, 2022Beautiful musket, bad quality control.
The rifle is beautiful however there was a significant rust stain under the barrel just above the ramrod. Not that big a deal since it was in the least visible part of the barrel but still a new gun should not have an issue like that.

Pedersoli is the best reproduction US 1861 you can still get new.The finish on this rifle was GREAT. Metal is silky smooth and metal to wood is excellent. Cleaned it up and it hit dead on at 50 yards with 70 grain of 2F and 500 grain thick skirt Minie bal

February 9, 2022Pedersoli 1861 Springfield .58 Caliber Musket
The Owners Manual is extremely limited in discussing the details of their .58 caliber 1861 Springfield musket, and the accompanying DVD did not play in any of my three DVD players. Their website did not mention the size of percussion cap needed or offer t

February 9, 2022Wow! Better than the original!
The very first rifle that I owned was an original 1861 Springfield, purchased in 1960. I was involved in the NSSA, and a history prof at U Maryland supplied the rifle and all accouterments.Pedersoli's replica is even better than the original, as it had no

February 9, 2022Springfield in the Field
Three days ago I pick up my 1861 Springfield from Cabela's that I had order online The next day I spent the whole day cleaning it. On day two I took it out into the field to shoot it. Placing one target at 50 yards and the other at 75 yards took three sho

February 9, 2022Great Civil War replica
Carrying this 1861 Springfield for just about 2 hours brings you to the realization what a Civil War era soldier endured. It's a 10 pound, 5' long, great looking replica. It's already on display at the top of my rifle collection and it deserves to be ther

February 9, 2022First BP Rifle
The bitter cold temperatures have kept the shooting ranges closed here in Ks. The musket arrived in absolutely perfect condition and the workmanship is outstanding. Can't wait to get out and shoot it.

February 9, 20221861 Springfield Musket
It looks just like computer image which is reason for its purchase. It is a lot heaver and longer than I thought it was (did not fully read it size/weight). Due to my age and strength I should purchased a small rifle (72yrs) But the main reason for purcha

February 9, 2022Wonderful rifled musket
So much better than the other brands on the market. The rifled musket is one of the more accurate representations out there.

February 9, 2022A Great Rifle
I am very pleased with this rifle, for it is indeed an accurate replica of a Union Army .58 caliber rifle. I find it to be an easy to handle rifle when firing either ball shot or Minnie ball. Yes, it packs a wallop, but please remember you're shooting a n

February 9, 2022A Beautiful Working Replica.
I purchased this rifle for two reasons. The first was that I have always loved the .58 caliber rifles, and the second is that this is a replica of the rifle used by both sides in the Civil War. Since my younger grandson is such an ardent buff of this peri

February 9, 2022Great Gun For Everything!
I cant really describe this gun with words it is purely amazing. Very accurate and the craftsmanship is very good and high quality. There is cheaper Springfield 1861's like Euroarms or Armisport but they in comparison are nothing close to what Pedersoli m

February 9, 2022Great Quality Rifle
After spending a day at Gettysburg, I decided to buy a 1861 Springfield. After some research I bought the Pedersoli. I had read the previous reviews and inspected my new Springfield very critically upon arrival.

February 9, 2022A Nice Rifle
Well fit and finished except for a few dings on wood and metal. Hammer cocks fine and trigger is smooth but heavy. Rear battle sight with two folding leafs, and would sight just fine if you are about 19 years old. My eyes have a tough time with them. Wood

February 9, 2022Very Disappointing Rifle
I have tried to purchase a good quality Civil War era rifle to shoot at the range. This rifle arrived and couldn't be cocked, why?, it was full of wood chips from the stock. I wiped the oil off the gun and then went to pull the ramrod to clean the inside
