February 9, 2022Back into Black Powder
I purchased the Pedersoli 50 cal after reading some of these reviews. I must say i am greatly impressed. The one with the recommendation on Triple Seven propellant and 348 grain Powerbelt hollow point. Really was on mark. I took the gun out this past week

February 9, 2022Workmanship Traditional Model
I would have given the Traditional a four star but for the fact, on the second time out to practice, A Screw came out of the ram rod holder bar to the barrel how do I get one?????

February 9, 2022Awesome left hand model!
Received the rifle two days ago. I fell in love with it right away. The fit and finish are flawless as are all of my Pedersoli rifles and shotguns. This one is special though. It's the first time I have been able to actually get a left handed model. I hav

February 9, 2022love this rifle for hunting
Use Pyrodex RS 80 to 85 grains and 530 lead in my 54 cal.Got tight groups once I figured the rear sight. Little Kick. Very durable and looks good. A little heavy but I'll trade heavy for knocking down big game like Like Elk lead conical do a number on the

February 9, 2022Great Muzzleloader for the Money
I bought the rifle in .54 caliber. It shot low out of the box but only needed minor adjustment to get a 1.5 inch grouping 1 inch high at 50 yards using 80 grains of Alliant MZ Black black powder substitute. Took it hunting for the MN Firearms Deer Season.

February 9, 2022retirement rifle
I bought this to celebrate my retirement and what a good choice! I have not fired the rifle yet, and may not because I just enjoy having it hanging on the wall. I have other black powder guns I can play with during my new career...

February 9, 2022Not good purchase
I have had nothing but total problems finding a load this gun likes. Additionally #11 caps are none existent in my area and I had to research an alternative. Finally went with a Hubbard Mag-Spark Adapter converting it to 209 primer ignition. The sights ar

February 9, 2022Wow!
Being a PA Flintlock hunter I was always curious about shooting a percussion. I own several T/C's a couple Traditions and the Pedersoli Kentucky all .050 flint. I couldn't pass up a deal on the Hawken and now after shooting the .54, I'm glad I bought it.

February 9, 2022Nice
Very nice muzzleloader, anything made by DP is top notch. The reason for 4 stars is I bought this 54 model because of its advertised weight, but it weights 8.5 pounds.

February 9, 2022Pedersoli Traditional Hawken
I purchased the .54 cal model. Although not as traditional, I added the Pedersoli 209 conversion nipple. I shoot 100 grains of Buckhorn 209 powder and 348 grain Powerbelt and 425 grain Great Plains bullets. Both shoot very well and clean up is easy. I ori

February 9, 2022Great Rifle
I have had this rifle since 1994 in .54 Cal. It is extremely accurate with mini-balls at 50 to 100 yards free-hand. I highly recommend this rifle to anyone, especially a first time black powder shooter as I was when I bought mine.

February 9, 2022I've bought several of these
Got one for myself. Then when I had some cash I bought four for my scout camp. Straight out of the box, my shooting sports staff was able to hit bulls eyes at 50' without trying hard.

February 9, 2022Excellent Rifle
I own this rifle in .50 cal for 15 years now and have killed quite a few white tails with it. I found that it is most accurate and reliable with Triple Seven propellant and 348 grain Powerbelt hollow points. The rifle is very well made and easy to maintai

February 9, 2022Amazing Craftsmanship
This was my first introduction to black powder guns. I opted for the .54 caliber despite the difficulty in obtaining some of the ammo and accessories. Cabela's carried most everything I needed and had one of the best selection of traditional black powder

February 9, 2022First timer
Thought I'd try out the black powder rifles after getting into the revolvers and treated myself to this one for my birthday. Took it out last week for the first time and no problems at all. Dead on at 50 yards using Goex and .495 Hornady balls. Shot 15 ti
