GUN HAS REAL BRASS

This 1858 New Army was the first brass frame revolver that I bought and I was very pleased with it. I use it for plinking while on deep woods hikes and on the range. It is very accurate, surprisingly so. I use #10 caps only for all my cap and ball pistols

this is a really good gun and for the money its even better, some people think that a brass frame will warp, but it takes 11 mins or so to reload every time, and like with all guns if u give them time and care they will last a life time.

So had great fun with the pistol, but must practice more. It is also a good idea to buy an extra cylinder or two so you can load in advance. Unlike the "Navy" cylinder changes are quick and easy.

This is a great black powder gun. It is easy to load and I feel safe using it. It will shoot a tight group at 30 ft. (better than my 9mm) I found the #11 caps are to big and the #10 are to small. The Dynamite Nobel #1075 seem to work better on this gun.

CCI Caps are a pain in this gun

Beautiful gun and I love it. I would give it a 5 but for the nipples. CCI 10 caps are too small and are a pain to put on and they are will not fire the first time but will the second time around as the hammer pushes them onto the nipple better.

Nice gun for the price. Recommend getting the extra cylinder. If you buy this gun and order some lead balls at the same time, it takes the .454 lead balls. Also, the wads are a lot less hassel and cleaner to use than lube.
