Tisas 1911-A2 Complete Specs and Full Gun Specifications

Despite micro-compacts, sub-compacts, and all sorts of plastic Wonder Nines dominating the handgun market in the last several decades, there's still a demand for 1911 handguns not just in America, but in any imaginable part of the world where there's available .45 ACP ammunition. And it shouldn't come as a surprise. As a launching platform, to say that the 1911 has withstood the test of time is a gross understatement. It may be far from perfect, but it's so aesthetically pleasing, so reliable and so well-designed that more than a century after its conception, it is still one of the most popular handguns in the world and doesn't seem to show signs of falling by the wayside anytime soon. The 1911 will be around long after our great-great-grandsons rule the world. And it doesn't matter what brand it is, as long as it uses ordnance-grade steel and follows John Moses Browning's integral design, it will always be beautiful and perform as intended. As far as the design's basic form and function are concerned, the Tisas 1911 A2 isn't too different from any other 1911 copies out there. It begs the question though -- if you're interested in one, what makes it stand out from its competitors?Brand new, the Tisas 1911 A2 GI version' has an MSRP of $400 with street prices ranging anywhere from $290 to $320. The enhanced version of this model costs only around $60 more, which, all things considered, makes it a real bargain. It comes with all the bells and whistles one would expect from any brand of 1911 labeled an enhanced version: a three-hole aluminum trigger, a beavertail grip safety, an ambidextrous thumb safety, front and rear slide serrations, and Novak-style rear sights. And even with all that, the company still managed to use a frame with an integrated rail and a cold-forged barrel. You'd be hard-pressed to find the last two features in a 1911 that costs $460 thereabouts. If you want a cost-effective 1911 that looks the part and will go bang every time you pull the trigger, the Tisas 1911 A2 may be a viable option. I found it to be a great gun for the price. I could not pay 3 x as much for a named brand gun that is only a little better.

Very good 1911 shot over 600 rounds, no problems, changed the grips too the mapul black synthetic grips, it made it feel like a different pistol. Very good value if you don't have a lot of money for a 1911.

So far I like everything about this pistol. If you want a plastic pistol this ain't for you. It has good heft and light recoil. I really like the "clean" look, no gaudy symbols or unnecessary writing. I also like the finish but, I will be looking for some

This is a GOOD pistol if you understanding what you are getting. Out of the box the finish looked great but soon was almost completely gone from the front and rear sights and top of the hammer. GI style sights are tiny and difficult to acquire quickly. A

This is my first 1911 and outta the box it's a nice looking gun. Everything seems to fit well, the mag release is harder to depress than I expected. I am comparing to Barretta m9 and a sig 40. Like I said my first 1911. I have not had the opportunity to s

Since no one did an in-depth review I will. It seems when people are happy the review is two sentences. When they're enraged it's pages. This gun deserves this review. I had always wanted a classic old-style 1911 like my grandfather's from WWII, but two
