Winchester 37 12GA26" Complete Specs and Full Gun Specifications

The Model 37 was a top lever semi-hammerless single shot takedown shotgun with a steel frame and double-action automatic ejection. The Model 37 was developed by Edwin Pugsley and William C. Roemer and made by Winchester from 1936 to 1963. Over 1 million Model 37 shotguns were made in that time. It was Winchester's best money earner that earn over 25% of Winchester's total revenue. It was made as Winchester's effort to keep pace with it's competitors in the low priced, single barrel, exposed hammer shotgun market. The Model 37 is a very simple construction shotgun with a standard visible hammer action. Mounted with a smooth walnut forearm and pistol grip stock with a checkered Winchester butt plate. Modified choke or cylinder bore was furnished at no extra charge on special order only. The National Guard used Model 37 during World War II. Variation: Model 37A Youth in 20 or 410 gauge for a young shooters - a smaller and lighter variation of the Model 37.
