Ben, this Winchester Model 1873 Sporter is made by long time Browning/Winchester partner Miroku in Japan. Winchester should be able to answer if any at all are made in the US. Value is not affected in my opinion. Winchester 800-333-3288 or 801-876-2711

it has a 24" Full Octagon Barrel. This model has a high gloss Polished Blued Receiver and Barrel Finish and the 534228173 has a Color Case Hardened Receiver and Blued Barrel. The different finishes are the only differences
